We've arrived.

So i've been in Mexico for a week now and am yet to the blog as between dodgy wifi and many early mornings I just haven't gotten around to it. But now i'm on a 51/2 hour bus journey, i thought i'd catch you guys up.

I'm in Mexico, that much i think is clear. I'll be here for nearly 2 months travelling across the south of the country.

So, here we go!

Mexico City; first stop, just really a layover before heading to San Cristobal de las Casas. First up was Teotihuacan spectacular pyramids created by the Mayans before I could even begin to comprehend how to drag 10 tonnes of brick up a hill repeatedly!!

Then, as we headed back to the car we saw what was the beginnings of a traditional Mexican show where four men climb to the top of a pole and hang from their ankles whilst spinning it definitely wasn't something to be missed!

We moved on to a small town down the road to the ruins where we were shown how one plant can be used to make thread, paper, soap, water and alcohol. I was pretty amazing, and show how self sufficient and resourceful they can be! We even got to try a bit of the alcohol, which was a bonus!

A pretty hectic first day in Mexico!
