Up and at it! 9 am and we get our third and final plane to the next city; San Cristobal de las Casas. Once we'd arrived we hopped on a bus, to visit *insert river name here*. A long river that flows between two cliffs that reach heights of 1000km. We were told to look out for wildlife and were definitely not disappointed!
We reached the hotel in time for some quick supper before getting some rest ready for the next day of activities. We visited to traditional communities, in the first, photos were strictly forbidden but the second were much more relaxed and both me and Mark jumped and the opportunity get dressed up.
All of the items they make were displayed throughout the house and looked amazing, and we picked up some gifts for family and friends
We went through to the kitchen where we just in time to catch some tortillas being pressed, shaped and cooked on the hot stone, ready to be eaten or sold later in the day. We had the chance to try them with an assortment of traditional fill ins - they were delicious!
Before hopping back in the bus, we noticed a churro stand - how could we resist?
Then finally we had a stroll around the town and stumbled across San Cristobal's daily market, we picked up a few more things and then headed home before the storm hit. Which it did, it rained for hours.
More adventures from San Cristobal soon..
